Mini Vacation – Pool, Sand, Sea, Sun, and Sea Food

Sunday was the first day of our vacation, which we spend lazing by the pool with Owen and Debbie. A quiet day with plenty of beer and food.

Monday we were up bright and early and headed off to the coast with the boys. Matt brought Kathleen, while Alex invited Hee, his friend and future room mate at college. We drove down and arrived mid morning at Bethany Beach, played in the surf and sand close to the place we stayed on our first trip to Bethany, and Eudene got here funnel cake. We saw a few pods of dolphins go bye, but failed to capture a single jump or fin on camera.
Late afternoon we headed to the hotel, took a nap and went to get dinner at the Dogfish Head brewery. That could have gone better, after much arguments about directions, we had to wait for a table, and the food was sub-par to top it off.

Tuesday morning we got together for breakfast, all be it in dribs and drabs. Eudene and I then set off to reserve our spot on the beach and let the kids relax in the hotel. After check-out from the hotel at 11 am they joined us down on the beach. Again more fun in the surf. We left and drove home in the early evening, catching the sun setting over the Bay Bridge.

Wednesday was back to work, but the vacation was not really over. We all gathered over at Arjay in the evening and feasted on crabs. This was the last chance we all had to be together this summer, as JL goes back to college this week to be followed soon by Alex and then Matt.
